Research Intersts: Plant breeding is the science and business of crop improvement. It is an innovation based sector, focused on developing plants better adapted to the environment and to human needs. I am handling two Farm & Research Projects, for production of surplus green fodder as well as seed in berseem, oats, sorghum and maize. Additionally, I am working on development of multicut, Sorghum-Sudangrass hybrid plants having better nutritional quality (particularly protein contents) to satisfy the degree of hunger in livestock during extreme summers. I am also working on development of fodder crops, which can successfully cope the climate-resilient factors (abiotic and biotic) and could provide more benefits with minimum application of inputs (fertilizer, irrigation, weedicides/pesticides). As, Today’s Plant Breeding is more than just producing varieties of crops/seeds. That’s why, I am focusing on different issues related to genetic conservation, crop production, farm management, and profitability keeping in view the market conditions.
