It was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing the non-teaching staff of the University at Iqbal Auditorium. He said that new IT innovations will be adopted for this purpose along with training of administrative staff He said that in the midst of Coved 19 the UAF had adopted all online teaching and learning methods. He said that in the situation of pandemic world contacted each other through video conferencing and social media webinars etc being used to bridge distances and benefit from each others experiences. He said that soon all the departments in the university will be connected through the latest system of ERP after through which there will be no need to move the pile of files. Whereas all the work will be done at high speed. He said that this would not only save the time of students and teachers but also reduce unnecessary expenses on stationery. He said that under the ICT project work on ERP was started six years ago to digitize all the departments of the university which have been fully implemented by now but it is being done at a very fast pace. He called for immediate implementation of new innovations in the administrative sector and examination system saying that it would not only benefit thousands of our students but also serve the true cause of civil society. Registrar Umar Saeed said that there is a total capacity of 430 sanctioned seats of grade 16 and above out of which 202 persons are working at present. The Vice Chancellor also listened to the problems of the employees.
He chaired the Academic Council meeting held at the Iqbal Auditorium. The Academic Council also approved the translation of Holy Quran as mandatory subject and Spiritual Studies subject. Dr Iqrar Ahmad said that we have to conduct the relevant research work to address the issues of the farming community. He added that the farmers and government were looking at the UAF to address the agricultural problems. He added that UAF being the mother of all agricultural institutes is the custodian of agricultural research, teaching and outreach for farming community. He said that UAF was taking all possible measures for solving the issues of the faculty including Tenure Track Faculty and BPS faculty. He added that we have to strengthen our internship programto work as a vehicle to boost up linkages with the industry. He said that the agriculture sector had been facing stagnation for a couple of decades. The sector had lost its profitability owing to non-adopting of modern trends, forcing the rural populations to shift to other professions. He said that the UAF had devised a comprehensive plan to promote the result orientated commissioned research. He urged the agricultural experts to come up with the viable solutions to agricultural sector keeping the increasing productivity, value addition, water scarcity, mechanization, post-harvest and other issues in view.
