The University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Friday arranged a seminar on raising hepatitis awareness among the school and college children for healthier future.
The seminar was arranged by UAF Department of Bio Chemistry, Office of Research and Laboratory School and College System under Social Integration Program of Higher Education Commission at the New Senate Hall. The session was meant to create the awareness about the precautionary measures to address the issue at the mass level. The session was chaired by UAF Principal Officer (Schools) Dr Khalil ur Rehman. He said that Samundri and Faisalabad were affected areas in the cases of hepatitis. He said that the government was making all-out effort to create the awareness and eradicate the diseases from the society. He recommended ensure the clean environment, potable drinking water and food to fight the different diseases. He added that worldwide, 2.5 percent of population was affected by hepatitis while the ratio is at 7 percent in Pakistan. Dr Ijaz Akthar from District Headquarter Hospital stressed upon need to adopt the healthy lifestyle and food. He said that prevention is the better than cure so we have to adopt the measures to lead a healthy life. Dr Ghulam Murtaza said that good health is the blessing. He guided the audience about the measures need to be taken for the healthy life and reduce the ailment from the society. Dr Rizwan Ahmad, Dr Alvina Haseeb and Dr Nazish also spoke on the occasion .
