Description

 

          Animal Husbandry is a separate field all over the world and is directly involved in the qualitative and quantitative improvement of domestic animals, which is the responsibility of professionals like animal nutritionists, geneticists, breeders and production managers.

 

Job opportunities

 

   

       B.Sc. (Hons.) A.H degree holders from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry are being eagerly employed by public and private organizations alike. In public sector the main employing agencies are: Provincial Departments of Livestock and Dairy Development, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Tandojam, Gomal University, D.I Khan and Barani Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, Punjab Forest Department and In-service Training Institute, Peshawar. Among the Federal Government employing agencies are PARC, ADBP and PCSIR. The main private employing concerns are: animal feed mills, poultry farms and hatcheries and various dairy concerns. Over a dozen A.H. graduates have successfully set up their own businesses.

Description

          Faculty of Animal Husbandry is also offering a separate degree programme in Poultry Science at Sub-Campus Toba Tek Singh. This is a four year program having 160 credit hours spread over eight semester. This program is started on the demand of stakeholders, Courses on latest technologies and the demands of poultry industry all over the world are included from poultry and allied sciences. This degree program is being started at the sub-Campus Toba Tek Singh from winter 2005-2006.
