Teaching
and research in all aspects of textiles. Research studies related to the
physical and mechanical properties of fibres and their structures as well as the
improvement in the methodologies of fibre extraction and spinning techniques. A
long series of experimental research on regular basis to study the
physicochemical characteristics of various cotton strains and varieties evolved
in different regions of Pakistan has been carried out. Wools from various breeds
of sheep and other specialty hair fibres have also been studied on their
comparative performance of textile materials. Keeping in view the increasing
trend for the use of synthetic fibres In textile, the research work is being
carried out to study the effect of different variables on the silver and yarn
quality of different blended yarn.
During recent years textile process have gone through tremendous technical
revolutions consequently various projects have been designed and undertaken to
study the Innovative effects of these advanced technicalities investigation have
been published in various national and international journals. The results of
these publication mostly bear the importance of industrial applications.
Physicochemical
tests of fibres, yarn and fabrics are carried out. The department has also a
spinning laboratory which is being affectively and efficiently used far both
demonstration and research purposes. The department also equipped with complete
computerized fibre testing instrument (HVI 900). The final semester student
are sent to various textile mils of national repute for a period of one full
semester for the purposes of practical training where they learn to handle most
modern testing instrument and spinning processing machinery |
