The Department of Farm Machinery and Power was set
up since the inception of the University in 1961. The department has 10 highly
qualified staff members who are engaged in research and teaching to under and
postgraduate students. Most of the staff members have obtained Ph.D. Degrees
from foreign universities. Major research and development activities are carried
out in the design, development and testing of agricultural machinery suitable to
Pakistani's ecological and socio-economic conditions. It deals with tillage,
planting, spraying, harvesting, processes engineering and material handling
equipment. The department has carried out major research on the following
aspects sponsored by various national and international funding agencies.
