The
department of Structures and Environmental Engineering has recently emerged with
a view to introducing modern concepts of structural designs consistent with
acceptable environment at our farms in the countryside. The department is
engaged in teaching Farm Structures, Farm Electrification and Environmental
courses required for under graduate students apart from introductory engineering
courses. The department facilitates the faculty in offering the courses both at
the under-graduate and graduate levels in Agricultural Engineering. |

Objectives |
1. Engineering solutions of the problems in farm structures.
2. Farm structures design & control of their environment.
3. Design and development of systems for management of agricultural and
urban wastes for agricultural purposes. |

Brief History
|
|
Degree
program in agricultural engineering was initiated at the University of
Agriculture, Faisalabad during 1961. This department was established in the
Faculty of Agricultural Engineering to facilitate instructions both at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department offered courses like
Engineering Drawing, Surveying, Engineering Materials, Engineering Mechanics,
Strength of Materials, Theory and Design of Structures, Rural Electrification
and Farm Structures for undergraduates in Agricultural Engineering. The
Department also offered courses in Advanced Mechanics of Materials and
Similitude in Engineering for graduate students in Agricultural Engineering. In
view of the changing scenario in Environmental degradation, department was
restructured in 1998 with emphasis on farm structures and environmental
engineering courses. |
