Objectives

 

The Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology will play a key role to fill the gap of availability of human resources that are required to improve the momentum of agriculture growth as well as economic growth, eradicate rural poverty and to manage environment and natural resources.  The general goals of the faculty are:

 

1. To design the Faculty’s administrative structure to enable the organizational agility needed for excellence.

 

2.  To serve as an advocate to the general public for the education of Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Agriculture Marketing and Business, Rural Sociology, Sociology and Population Sciences, emphasizing importance and the kinds of programs and resources available

   

3. To ensure that both formal and non-formal educators have ready access to knowledge of Agricultural Economics, Marketing and Business, Development of rural areas, sociology and population and of Natural Resource management issues, materials and programs.

 

4. To encourage development among partnerships who are interested in eradicating poverty, solving marketing and resource degradation problems, and to facilitate communication among all different parties who have Vision to develop the nation.

 

5. To integrate international dimensions into the faculty’s programs by fostering a supportive institutional environment.

 

Beside these general objectives and generating competent human resources, faculty will also focus on research mainly emphasizing to improve natural resource management, resource degradation, marketing system, poverty alleviation and to control population.
