PHYSICAL AND EYE-SIGHT STANDARDDS FOR
ADMISSION
For admissions, a candidate must be in good mental and
physical health and free from any physical defect. The fitness requirements
are given below:
1. Chest
expansion should not be less than 3.5 cms. The chest shall be measured in
the following manner:
He/she
will be make to stand erect with his feet together and arms raised over his
head. The tape will be so adjusted round the chest that its upper edge,
touches the inferior angles of the shoulder blades behind and its lower
edge, the upper part of the nipples in front. The arms will then be lowered
so as to hand loosely by the sides and care will be taken than the shoulders
are not thrown upwards or backwards so as to displace the tape. The
candidate will then be directed to take a deep respiration several times
when the maximum expansion of the chest will be carefully noted and the
measurement recorded.

The standard of vision shall
be not less than the 6/9 in each eye with or without glasses.
3.
The candidate shall be
examined for the following points as well:
(a) That his/her
hearing is good and there is no sign of ear disease
(b) That his/her
speech is without impediment.
(c) That his/her teeth
are in good order. He must have 10 sound teeth in the upper in the upper jaw
functionally opposed
to 31 sound teeth in the lower jaw. Two teeth in each jaw must be molars.
Well
filled teeth will be
considered as sound.
(d) That his/her
chest is well-formed and that his lungs and heart are sound.
(e) That his/her is
not ruptured. That he does not suffer from a severe degree or vericle or
varicose
veins. A candidate who
has been successfully operated upon will be accepted.
(f) That his/her
limbs are will-formed and developed.
(g) That there is
free and perfect motion of all joints.
(h) That his/her feet
and toes are well-formed.
(i) That he/her does
not suffer from any inveterate skin disease.
(j) That he/she does
not have any congenial malformation or defect.
(k) That he/she does
not bear traces or any previous acute or chronic disease pointing out to an
impaired constitution. |
