II. REGULATIONS
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Academic Requirements
1. i
A candidate seeking admission to the following first
degree courses must have passed the examination shown against each course or
an examination recognized as equivalent thereto from a recognized
institution securing at least 45% marks i.e. 495/1100 obtained in the
academic courses prescribed excluding 20 marks each of NCC and Hafiz–e–Quran;
provided further that the requirement of minimum marks may be amended from
time to time by the Academic Council:

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture |
2Intermediate
Science(Pre–Medical) provided that a minimum of 75% of the
admission to be made on the basis of open merit or district merit
shall be from the candidates with rural background to be determined
as under:–

Applicants
who are sons/daughters of the owners of agricultural land shall
submit the latest revenue document (جمعبندى_فرد_نقل_)
issued by the Patwari and countersigned by the Tehsildar of the same
year in which the admission is being sought on rural background
basis, alongwith their applications indicating the ownership of the
land and the domicile of the same district. Such certificate
issued/signed by any other agency/person shall not be accepted in
any case.
(2)
Applicants who are sons/daughters of such persons who do not own
land but cultivate as tenants/share–croppers should submit the
latest revenue document (_خسر٥
گرداورى_نقل _) issued
by the Patwari and countersigned by the Tehsildar of the same year
in which the admission is being sought on rural background basis,
alongwith their applications indicating the tenancy of the land and
the domicile of the same district. Such certificate issued/signed by
any other agency/person shall not be accepted in any case.
(3)
Applicants who are sons/daughters of such persons who neither own
agricultural land nor work as tenants, but live in villages, should
produce a latest certificate of residence in village (_سکنى_سرﮣﻴﻓﻛﻳﭧ
_نقل)
issued by the Patwari and countersigned by the Tehsildar of the same
year in which the admission is being sought on rural background
basis, along with their applications indicating the permanent
residence and the domicile of the same district. Such certificate
issued/signed by any other agency/person shall not be accepted in
any case. |

Note:
50% of the seats in D.V.M. are to be filled on open merit basis from the
candidates having rural background to be determined as given in the
(a) above.
Age
ii. A candidate must not be more than
23 years of age on 1st September of the year of admission; provided that the
Vice Chancellor may relax age limit in very exceptional cases on the
recommendations of the respective Dean/Director/Principal, College of
Agriculture, D. G. Khan.
Domicile
iii. a The candidate domiciles in other Provinces but passing
Intermediate examination from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary
Education of the Punjab may be considered for admission against Provincial
quota of the respective Province.
b The candidates who are domiciled in
the Punjab but have passed their Intermediate examination from Boards other
those in the Punjab may be admitted on merit on production of domicile
certificate.
Numbers to be Admitted
2. The Academic Council shall
determine the number of students to be admitted in each course under various
categories.
Authority
of Admission
3. The admission may be made by Dean/Director/Principal
of the College concerned.
Deficiency
4. If the schedule of courses pursued
by a candidate does not provide adequate background for the 1st degree
course which he intends to take up, he may be required to make up the
deficiency by taking one or more additional course(s) of deficiency level as
may be prescribed by the Dean/Director/Principal of the College concerned.
Time for
Admission
5. (i) Candidates may be admitted at
the beginning of the Winter Semester. If a candidate fails to enrol, his
admission shall stand cancelled.
(ii) The Dean/Director/Principal
concerned may refuse admission to a student without assigning any reason.
Enrolment
6. (i)
A candidate admitted to the course shall for so long as
he has not completed all the requirements for the degree, enrol himself for
each semester subject to the maximum admissible limit of 12 semesters in
case of B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture/B.Sc. Agricultural Engineering/B.Sc. (Hons)
Agricultural and Resource Economics and B.Sc.(Hons.) Home Economics, 14
semesters in case of D.V.M. and the summer session immediately following,
failing which his admission shall stand cancelled. In case a student
discontinues without permission, he may seek re–admission, in the
same semester next year, with the approval of the Vice Chancellor and on the
recommendations of the Dean/Director concerned/Principal of the College; or
the subsequent year with the permission of the Academic Council, provided
that he has not already exhausted the maximum residential requirements for
the course, and provided further that after the first eight semesters in
case of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture/B.Sc. Agri. Engineering/B.Sc. (Hons)
Agricultural & Resource Economics/B.Sc.(Hons.) Home Economics and ten
semesters for D.V.M, a candidate may enrol in the semester in which his/her
failing/remaining subject(s) is/are offered in accordance with his/her
"Scheme of Studies" subject to the maximum admissible limit of 12 and 14
semesters as the case may be. Provided further that the semester following
after completion of course work of the degree programme, shall be meant for
internship only.
