An Intellectual Property Rights Office was establish at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in collaboration with Intellectual Property Office Pakistan toprotectthe inventions and creative work by scientist, researchers and students of the Universityand to foster commercialization/technology transfer of newly developed technologies and solutions. The office was inaugurated at Business Incubation Centre on Feb 25, 2012 by IPO Pakistan Director General Mr. Sajjad Ahmad Bhutta and UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan. IPO Deputy Director Muhammad Ismail, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali, Director, Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization and Mr. Nadeem Ahmad, Director, Business Incubation Centre were also present. The inauguration followed by a workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights Management in Pakistan”. It is worth mentioning here that this Intellectual Property (IP) office, first of its kind in Faisalabad, wouldprovide a platform to create awareness among academia, industry and business community in the region to get registered and protect their intellectual property rights.
