Research Intersts: A Rural Sociologist, having longer experience of development work and research with international and national organizations i.e. DFID UK, UNDP, AUSAID, Action Aid, UNICEF and NRSP. Enormous experience of working with water related projects with IWASRI, IWMI, AUSAID, AAPK and NRSP irrigation water issues. Served in distinct positions as management, coordinator, and advisor. Presently working on three research projects one with ICDD University of Kassel Germany as lead researcher in which three countries are involved Pakistan, Ghana, and Kenya, the main issue is women inclusion in agricultural policy of these countries based on their contribution and role in agricultural economy of the country. ACIAR dealing as lead of social component specifically youth and women involvement in ground water management in Punjab, Lower Bari Doab. Other is with Global Agricultural Production System (GAPS). In which I am focusing on role of women in agriculture. For this also working on chapter for a book; published by FAO. Involvement in other smaller research projects in different role. Also working in a team preparing the agricultural policy for Punjab under the supervision of VC UAF. In this specially working on chapter related with Rural Poverty. Author of two books and six chapters all related with development, poverty, and gender/women development. More than 25 research papers published in different reputed and impact factor journals. Worked as visiting faculty University of Kassel Germany. Got Fatima Jinnah Medal /Award from Govt of Pakistan in recognition of research and work for development of poor and marginalized. Supervising student research of M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. Produced two Ph.D students. HEC recognized supervisor. Working voluntarily with some organization as their body member and advisor for poverty and development related work and research. Teaching the courses also. Strong grip on the rural community development and related issues which are diversified. Participated in several international conferences, presented paper/ share vision and as part of plenary in different countries. Turkey, Germany, Iran, Ghana, South Africa, India, now in ILO RDW conference in Switzerland and then Kenya. Having strong grip on qualitative research also known as PRA practitioner & Consultant from JICA on canal lining project of PID.

Research Intersts: The focus of my research interest is in the environmental sociology to study different environmental problems like; Climate change, Urbanization, domestic/solid waste disposal, patterns of land use changes, toxic chemicals, soil loss, forest cover etc. in the rural areas. I am interested to study their socio economic impacts, gender roles to control these problems and their relationship with agriculture. I am also interested in the application of GIS for understanding the socio-economic and environmental conditions in the rural areas.
