True benefits of the world trade could not be achieved without creating awareness about the WTO among the various stakeholders in general and masses in particular by utilizing all communication tools. This was stated by acting Vice Chancellor of University of Agriculture Faisalabad while addressing the participants of closing ceremony of 4-day workshop on “WTO and its impacts on Pakistan’s economy” here at STC Hall on Saturday afternoon.

He stressed the need for transformation the challenges into opportunities as Pakistani nation is blessed with enormous natural and human resources. He added that Indian agriculture could not sustain if the subsidies withdrawn but Pakistan has sustainable agriculture infrastructure. The eligibility criteria for selling the product will be the ownership of product, which comes under the scope of the trade related intellectual property rights (TRIPS).
Dr. Iftikhar A Khan maintained that only the producers of registered varieties, breeds and products will be able to export their commodities that need to under take a well documented and comprehensive effort to safeguard the interest of the exporters and manufacturers.
He emphasized the holding of such workshops on regular basis in order to enhance the capacity of young faculty as well as students of various disciplines. Earlier Coordinator DBMS Prof. Dr. Inyat Khan congratulated the organizers and hoped that the workshop become fruitful for future planning and development. Dr. Zulfiqar Gill told the participants that more than 40 faculty members of various departments participated in the workshop and equipped themselves with the latest business trends and emerging challenges in the field. Later on the chief guest distributed the certificates among the participants.
